Mrs. Patricia “Patty” Avery, age 68, of McKinney, Texas passed away April 28, 2009. She was born on March 3, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Henry Patrick Brannan Jr. and Vermell (Davenport) Brannan. On June 21, 1980, she married William J. Avery in McKinney. Patty’s accomplishments were many. She was the owner of Flowers by Patty. She was a member of the First Baptist Church McKinney, Jeanne d’ Arc Club, Heard-Craig Center For The Arts and the Eldorado Ladies Association. Patty was also a national flower show judge. She enjoyed supper club with seven special couples and also enjoyed her girls birthday lunches. Patty was very engaged in the life of her husband Bill, family and friends, McKinney cultural and social life. She was a very beautiful and giving person of her time and talents and was known for her warm and beautiful smile. She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Bill Cox and wife, Wendy of McKinney, David Cox and wife, Jennifer of McKinney, Tim Cox and wife, Tisha of Dallas, Bill Avery and wife, Kimberly of Ft. Worth; daughter, Michelle Bethard and husband, Jeff of Longview, along with 10 grandchildren. She blessed the lives of many dear friends, including special friends, Bobbie and Bennie Dugger. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2009, at First Baptist Church McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, McKinney, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heard-Craig Center 205 W. Hunt Street McKinney, Texas 75069.
