Patricia Ann (Brown) Peters, 78, of Allen, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, three months after being diagnosed with late-stage colon cancer. Patricia was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be missed.
Patricia was born on September 8, 1945, in the small Texas panhandle town of Crowell, Texas, to Jodie and Ethel (Bell) Brown. The youngest of 7 children by eight years, she was doted on by her parents and older siblings. Though she enjoyed small-town life, she also enjoyed visiting friends and family in the bigger cities across Texas. Patricia met her future husband, Eldon Peters, while working a summer job in a cafe in Dallas.
Eldon and Patricia married in January 1964, then settled in Dallas. Patricia and Eldon were thrilled to welcome their first child, Pierette, in 1971. Two years later, the family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where their two sons, Patrick and Phillip, were born. Patricia was a devoted and caring mother, was often involved in her children’s school activities, and lovingly catered to her children’s picky appetites. After Eldon retired, they moved back down to Texas to be closer to their grandchildren.
Patricia was known for her slight southern accent and friendly demeanor. She enjoyed going on cruises and traveling on cross-country road trips with Eldon, and she had a fondness for romance novels, Italian food, old western movies, and penny slot machines. But most of all Patricia loved being a grandmother, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending countless hours shopping for those same beloved grandchildren.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eldon Peters, and her siblings Durward, Lewis, Pete, Hope (Meppen), Ramona, and Bonita (Lowe).
Patricia is survived by her children, Pierette (Peters) Jones, of Allen; Patrick Peters and his wife, Lisa, of Austin; Phillip Peters, of San Jose, California; and her five grandchildren, Anaka, Arika, Drew, Claire, and Isla.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
