Patsy Jo McClellan Caldwell

Patsy Jo (Cottle) McClellan Caldwell of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 16, 2021 at age of 86. She was born on August 20, 1934 to Pat V. Cottle and Clemmye Mae (Holley) Cottle.

Patsy was born and lived in McKinney her entire life.

She was a member of the Full Gospel and Southside Assembly of God Churches of McKinney. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ at most services, as well as leading and signing in the church choir.

Patsy married Billy McClellan on December 23, 1950.

They had 3 children, Robin, Joe and Becky.

Patsy and Billy celebrated 49 years of marriage and family until Billy passed away in February of 1999.

On September 21, 2001 she married life long family friend, James E. Caldwell. Blending two families that had known each other since childhood.

She was part of the McClellan Trio, formed in the early 60’s and continued singing gospel music for over 40 years. The Trio traveled Texas and southern Oklahoma singing at many churches and funerals.

She worked as a nurse for Dr. Glen Mitchell for 30 years. Her duties with Dr. Glen included making home and nursing home visits, night call nurse as well as an OB nurse aiding in the delivery of hundreds of babies at Mitchell clinic.

After Dr. Glen’s retirement, she worked for Dr. David Rubenstein in Plano, before her health forced her to retire.

Pasty was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who helped deliver and care for many of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as a few great nephews.

She willingly gave her time and talents to help others. Never giving up on anyone she felt needed help.

Patsy is survived by her husband, James Caldwell of McKinney, Texas; children, Joe McClellan and wife, Amy of Van Alstyne, Texas and Becky McClellan of McKinney, Texas; brother, Pat Cottle and wife, Peggy of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Josh Recer and wife, Elaine of Pottsboro, Texas, Chris Recer of Dallas, Texas, Brad McClellan and wife, Jennifer of Van Alstyne, Texas., Lindsey Smith of Celina, Texas and Colby Howell of Las Colinas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Laney Recer, Jaxon Recer, Hannah McClellan Ashley McClellan and Killian Howell; extended family: James Caldwell and wife, Stacy of McKinney, Texas, Chris Caldwell and wife, Monica of Anna, Texas, Lisa O’Barr of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Cheyenne Garcia and husband, Alex, Shelby Caldwell, Christopher Caldwell and wife, Autumn, Brittany Hughes and husband, Aaron, Blakeley Caldwell and Zach Pruitt and Collin Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Alexen Garcia, Branson Caldwell, Michael Hughes Callaway Pruitt and Bolten Cole Garcia; and numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat V. and Clemmye Cottle; first husband of 49 years, Billy McClellan; daughter, Robin Kemp; grandson, Jeremy Kemp; sisters, Dortha Mae Pressnell and husband, Leon and Kathleen McClellan and husband Charles (Cowboy); and son-in-law, Donnie O’Barr.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., January 21, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Patsy’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/patsy-jo-mcclellan-caldwell. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Patsy and show their support to her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to the Pecan Grove Cemetery, Industrial Boulevard & Highway 5, McKinney, Texas 75069, for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing directives or you may remain in your vehicle.
