IN LOVING MEMORY

Pamela Kay Marrs Lauden

Mar 04 1949 - Jan 04 2024

Pamela Kay Marrs Lauden of McKinney, Texas, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 74. Pam was born on March 4, 1949, to William Earl and Gladys (Turner) Marrs in Dallas, Texas.

Pam's journey through life was marked by a spirit of adventure, resilience, and a passion for creativity. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas and continued her education at Tyler Junior College and East Texas State University. On June 21, 1969, she exchanged vows with the love of her life, Jim Lauden, in Tyler, Texas. Their union was a source of strength and joy, lasting over five decades.

The Lauden family embarked on a journey together, moving across Texas before eventually settling in Plano in 1979, where they would build a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams before moving to McKinney in 1998. Pam and Jim ventured into the world of entrepreneurship, co-founding a successful business. Together, they faced the challenges and triumphs of running a business, but their hard work and dedication paid off as they achieved a well-deserved retirement in 2019.

Pam was not only a businesswoman but also a woman of diverse interests and passions. She had an eye for beauty and found immense joy in photography, capturing the world through her lens. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore various corners of the United States, with a particular fondness for the enchanting landscapes of New Mexico. Pam embraced the open road, finding solace and excitement as Jim's devoted passenger on countless adventures from local back road day trips to cross country road trips.

However, Pam's greatest joy in life came from her role as a grandmother. Her love and devotion to her grandchildren knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them from reading books to playing games to attending their events. Her creativity shined in this role as well as she found pure joy in sewing beautiful creations for her grandchildren. Pam leaves behind a legacy of enduring love.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Lauden; daughter, Elizabeth Herring and husband, Stephen of Katy, Texas; son, Chris Lauden and wife, Melena of Blanco, Texas; grandchildren, Colten, Sydney, Carson, and Layla; brothers, Gary Marrs and wife, Kathy of Mt. Vernon, Texas and Richard Marrs and wife, Sharla of Lantana, Texas; and numerous other loving family, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Gladys Marrs.
