Pamela Byrd, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 78.
She was born on October 8, 1946 to Albert Weger and Oleta (Clark) Weger in Denison, Texas. She was a proud graduate of Denison High School. Pamela was of the Baptist faith and found comfort in her beliefs.
On November 13, 2010, Pamela married the love of her life, Carlos Ray Byrd in Carmel, California. Together, they created a life full of cherished moments and shared dreams.
Pamela built a successful career as a claims adjuster with State Farm, where she dedicated over 20 years of service. It was there she formed lifelong friendships, including with her close-knit group of dear friends affectionately known as “The Bad News Bears.”
Pamela had a zest for life—she loved dancing, relaxing on the beach, and especially her treasured trips to Turks and Caicos. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, a cherished sister, and a dear friend to many. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her legacy of love and laughter will live on in all who knew her.
Pamela will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Carlos Byrd of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Williams and husband, Ben of Runaway Bay, Texas; son, Brian Polone and partner, Mike Ramirez of Baytown, Texas; daughter, Carrie Polone Tubbs of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Holly Tubbs, Gracie Tubbs, Emily Williams, and Michael Pilla; sister, Lavon Quin and partner, David Stone of Sherman, Texas, a host of other loving family and friends including Carlos Byrd’s family: daughter, Faye Comte and husband, Steven; daughter, Katherine Hand and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Annie, Jane and Charles Comte, and Eleanor and Henry Hand.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Oleta Weger and brother, A.W. Weger.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/pamela-byrd.
