Ouida Bolding Ellis Yates, originally of Westminster, TX transitioned peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on February 2nd, 2024th. Ouida was born in Westminster, TX on August 20th, 1926, to Ozero H. Bolding and Alma Edwards Bolding.
She was a proud graduate of Farmersville High School, Class of 1944. Ouida worked as a dental hygienist, alongside her husband, Dr. Charles Yates. Upon retirement, they were successful in founding Academy of Gp Orthodontics, a non-profit educational and professional organization in Rockwall, TX, where Ouida continued working, until the age of 78.
Ouida was a lifelong and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Farmersville, TX, A member of the Eastern Star, Farmersville Historical Society, American Quarter Horse Association, American Orthodontic Society and Academy of Gp Orthodontics, as well as an avid supporter of Shriners International.
While she was Ouida to many, she was known as “Mommaw” or “Aunt Wee” to the ones she loved the most. While she did spend many hours donating her efforts to her well-cherished organizations, she also enjoyed numerous of hours in the horse arena, going to estate sales, working in the yard, baking, shopping and her most favorite of all, spending time with her grand-babies. especially her “great-grand boys,” as she called them.
Mommaw embodied the best of qualities: she was always the backbone of the family; full of unconditional love, an enormous strength of spirit and an unending generosity.
If you knew Ouida as “Mommaw” or “Aunt Wee” in any way, then you are rest assured that cherished memories will always remain for everyone who was blessed to know her. Whether it was eating milk and crackers while watching the Cowboy game on Sunday or walking in her house to never ending cases of Diet Coke and a lifetime supply of chocolate, those memories will always remain fresh and full of love.
Ouida is survived by her granddaughter, Tracy Kitts, great grandson, Bryson Brazil, great grandson, Casen Kitts, as well as “special family”, Fredda Cox, Elizabeth Pruett, Katie Wigington, Ronnie and Victoria Jones, Keith Hale, Chris Kitts, Benny, Doris Dennis, Nieces Dosky and Dollene Bolding, and Bennie Stanberry and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ozero and Alma Bolding, husband, Dr. Charles Yates, brother Douglas Bolding and two sons, Eugene Edward Ellis, and Dr. Lawrence Yates.
The Family would like to extend their gratitude to Misty and the Hayloft staff of Farmersville, TX for their exhausted efforts in the beautiful floral arrangements and The Cox Family of Leonard, TX and James Carson for providing their subsequent services.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to either Farmersville Historical Society or Hella Shriners located at 2121 Rowlett Road in Garland, Texas 75043.
