Oscar Sanchez, born September 21, 1950, went Home to the Lord on May 25, 2022, at age 71. His wife Tomasita Sanchez was by his side at his time of death.
Oscar was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico. He married Tomasita Romero on February 21, 1970, and had a son, Oscar Sanchez Jr. Oscar became a United States Permanent Legal Resident and moved the family to Washington, Dc to work for Cassillius Press. He soon found the job of his dreams working for the Communication Workers of America (CWA) and retired in 2007 after being in their employment for 34 years. Soon after retiring, he relocated with his family to Leonard, Texas where he enjoyed the small city living by having his own little farm. He spent his last years caring for his chickens, goats, ducks, and goose. He leaves his dog named Lady and his chicken Lucky.
In 1985, Oscar because a United States Citizen and was so proud to show it. He loved wearing red, white and blue clothing and attended many 4th of July activities. Oscar was blessed to meet two sitting presidents, President Jimmy Carter, and President Bill Clinton. He loved watching football and NASCAR.
Oscar joins his father, Gilberto Sanchez, and mother Nicolaza in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Tomasita Sanchez, and son, Oscar Sanchez, Jr.
Oscar was loved by so many. His positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever he went. He never met a stranger that didn’t quickly become a friend; he always went out of his way to help anyone in need.
Funeral Services will be in Laredo, Texas, July 8, 2022, at Laredo City Cemetery.
