Opal Orleta Bowman Hartsell, age 99, passed away on September 25, 2019 in Princeton, Texas. She was born June 9, 1920 in Climax, Texas, to Arthur and Geneva Lokey Bowman. She married Glen Hartsell on March 9, 1940 in Collin County, who preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Pleasant Grove.
Opal was a seamstress and worked at Haggard Slacks in McKinney. She worked for the First Baptist Church of Farmersville, in the nursery, for 32 years. She also worked for the Farmersville High School in the Cafeteria.
She is survived by, daughters, Minnie Sue Recer of Columbia, Mo. and Eva Barton of Farmersville, Texas, grandchildren, Glenn Mann and wife Nanette of Ashland, Mo. and Autumn Barton of Farmersville, Texas, one great-grandchild, Lauren Mann of Ashland, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hurst Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church in Farmersville. Dr. Bart Barber will officiate. Burial to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
