Oma Leta Powell, age 85, of McKinney, Texas, passed away March 14, 2010, in McKinney. Oma was born January 31, 1925, in McKinney, Texas, to Charley Lee and Lillie Maud (Hooser) Duvall. She married William Everett Powell on August 1, 1943, in McKinney, Texas. Oma graduated from McKinney High School in 1943. She worked at Texas Instruments for thirty-three years where she began on the assembly line and later moved to the personnel department. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Lynn West of Plano, Texas; granddaughters, Carmen Michelle McBroom of Blue Ridge, Texas and Amanda Lachelle West of Plano, Texas; and great-grandson, Christian West, also of Plano. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Everett Powell on July 14, 1989, brothers, Daniel Duvall and Otis Duvall, and sisters, Adell York, Thelma Henderson, Sib Pell, Mary Walker, Dorothy Reeves, and Mable Klutts. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Larry Tinsley officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
