Ollie Dean “Deanie” Newman, age 94, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on February 27, 2021, in Frisco. Deanie was born on March 27, 1926, in Plano, Texas, to Clint and Jessie Ollie Chumley.
Deanie graduated from Plano High School in 1944 and began working at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Dallas until she married Jackie Neal Newman on January 1, 1955, and moved to Frisco where they lived in the old Newman home on 5th Street that was built in 1919. Jack and Deanie moved to the farm at Eldorado and Legacy Drive in 1974. Together with sons, Jim and Dale, the family farmed over 3,000 acres until 2005.
Deanie was an active member of First Baptist Church, Frisco, where she faithfully attended until health prevented her from doing so. She taught preschool Sunday School for many years, was a member of the Woman’s Missionary Union and the LLL Sunday School Class. Deanie served on the Board which started the Senior Adult Center in Frisco.
Deanie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Woodie Ruth Hart, and her husband, Jack.
Deanie is survived by two sons, Jim Newman (Drusilla) and Dale Newman (Jeri); four grandchildren, Lauren Newman Burge (Ben), Whitney Newman Brubaker (Chad), Clint Newman (Jaime), and Connor Newman (McKenzie); two great grandsons, Lenox Reed Burge and Lincoln Wade Burge; a nephew, Ronny Hart and niece, Debra Peabody.
A family visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Frisco, 7901 Main Street, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Little Elm Cemetery.
