Oliver Frederick “Pete” Field, Jr., age 86, a long time resident of and attorney practicing in Plano, Texas, passed away April 26th in Longview, Texas. He was born November 21, 1921 in Prosper, Collin County, Texas to Fred and Mamie Baker Field. Pete earned a B.S. degree in Agriculture Administration in May, 1942, from Texas A & M University, the Certified Public Accountant designation in August, 1948, and the Bachelor of Laws degree from South Texas College of Law in June, 1952. He served four years in the Navy during WWII, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. Pete practiced law and accounting in Plano from 1954 to 1989 and served on the Tax Equalization Board for Plano ISD and the City of Plano – 1961; Chairman of the Charter Commission of City of Plano – 1961; Legal Secretaries of Collin County, “Boss of the Year Award” – 1984; Board of Directors – Republic Bank, Plano, Plano Lions Club member, serving as President 1964-1965; Ruling Elder and Chairman, Building committee, First Presbyterian Church, Plano.
Pete is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty June Turner Field; daughters, Linda Roberts and her husband, Fred of Trenton, Kentucky, Lucy Carroll and her husband, Bob of Hallsville, Texas and Mary Huffman of Los Angeles, California; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James W. “Jim” Field of Plano.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30th at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
