Olga Mae Johnson of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 9, 2016 at the age of 95. She was born on July 10, 1920 to Harvey and Eva Mae (Love) Baugh in McKinney, Texas. Olga grew up in McKinney and Dallas. She graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas. Olga married Oco Dearmond Johnson on February 5, 1939 in McKinney, Texas. She loved flowers and was a Texas Flower judge and a Life Flower show judge. Olga had been a member of Down to Earth Garden Club in Dallas for many years. She loved art including sketching, pastel and watercolor as well as metal working and decoupage. Olga volunteered with Dr. Soday in Tulsa, Oklahoma by working with archaeologists and cataloguing finds. She also enjoyed tracing her family’s genealogy.
Olga is survived by her children, James Gary Johnson and wife Judy of Liberty Hill, Texas, Linda Lane of McKinney, Texas, John Austin “Bodie” Johnson and wife Sally of Austin, Texas, and Kathy Stewart of Springdale, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Tommie Turner of Poquoson, Virginia; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son-in-law, Eddie Lane; granddaughter, Kelsey Johnson; brother, Wilford Baugh; and sister, Corine Young.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday morning, April 13, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
