Ola Jean Brown of Garland, Texas passed away July 25, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born on March 17, 1935 to Leeman Roland and Ethel Viola (Riddle) Roland in Farmersville, Texas. Ola’s loving mother passed away when she was only 4 years of age. Her father married Mandy Mae Collier who raised her. Ola lived in McKinney, Texas for 10 years before moving to Dallas, Texas to reside for 28 years and finally relocating to Garland in 1990. Ola married the late Carnell Brown on July 3, 1954 in McKinney, Texas and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. She operated a successful office cleaning service for many years. Ola was a member of the Full Gospel Church. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Ola will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her niece, Linda Chapman; nephew, Tommy Brown; brother, Charles Roland; and numerous cousins and dear friends.
Ola was preceded in death by her husband, Carnell Brown; parents, Leeman and Ethel Roland; and stepmother, Mandy Mae Roland.
The Brown family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Redbud Place in McKinney and the nurses of Dignity Hospice for the loving care of Ola Jean Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2023 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
