Norman Edward Gidney passed away January 21, 2023 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 92. He was born to Zeno William and Opal Jane (Wolfe) Gidney on June 5, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, Texas.

Norman married Doris Lorraine Danner in Frisco, Texas on August 24, 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Norman was a member of the Chambersville United Methodist Church, and also attended Hilltop Assembly of God in Aubrey, Texas. He was a farmer, rancher and dairyman.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Rutledge and husband, Garry of Grove, Oklahoma; son, Mike Gidney of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Michelle Pearson and husband, Steve of Skiatook, Oklahoma; grandson, Clint Rutledge and wife, Angela of Prosper, Texas; granddaughter, Brandy Davis and husband, Brandon of Austin, Texas; granddaughter Brook Solis and husband, Adam of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Bethany McMinn and husband, Tyler of Blue Ridge, Texas; great grandchildren, Jordyn, Cole, Easton, Casen, Karsyn, Rylan, and Chandler; sister, Melba Etoyce Mayfield of McKinney, Texas; sister, Verna Lee Brockman of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and brother, William Brockman of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Zeno and Opal Gidney; wife, Doris Lorraine Gidney; sister, Flossie Maye Carter; and brothers, Loyd R., Joe Dean, and David Keith Gidney.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
