Norma June McIntyre Winn, 81 years of age, of Richardson, Texas passed away on January 6, 2018 in Plano, Texas surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Depew, Oklahoma to Virgil Cleveland and Ruby Rebecca (Richards) McIntyre on January 13, 1936. Norma was the fifth and youngest child. She went to school all of her school years in Depew except for her senior year in high school. Her parents moved to Silver Spring, Maryland and she graduated from Montgomery Blair High School. Norma married Kenneth Lee Winn of Bristow, Oklahoma on June 16, 1955 in Bristow. She began her working career at a local telephone company and later when her children were older she worked for Pinecrest Insurance Agency. Norma was actively involved at Spring Creek Church of Christ of Plano, Texas. She taught children’s Bible class at Melrose Church of Christ as well as at Spring Creek Church of Christ. Norma also spent over fifteen years volunteering in Women’s Services at Plano Medical Center.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Winn of Richardson, Texas; daughters, Sharla Winn of Pasadena, Texas, Sharon Winn Swartz (Kevin) of Mansfield, Texas, and Renee Winn Dains (Jason) of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Justin Swartz, Jacob Dains, and Nicole Dains; and brother, Virgil McIntyre, Jr. of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Cleveland and Ruby Rebecca McIntyre; sisters, Grace Strosnider Edwards, and Clita Day; and brother, Richard McIntyre.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on January 10, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the funeral home with Tim Jennings from the Spring Creek Church of Christ in Plano and Terry Slack from Northwest Church of Christ in Arlington, Texas officiating. Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bristow City Cemetery in Bristow, Oklahoma.
