Norma Jean (Pelt) Jenkins of Wylie, Texas passed away on November 15, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born on May 7, 1925 to Lawrence Earl and Alice (Gilbert) Pelt in Melissa, Texas. Norma grew up in the Princeton area, graduating from Princeton High School. She lived in Collin County her entire life, as she was proud to tell others. Norma married Raymond Jenkins on September 27, 1941 in Oklahoma. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lavon. Norma was a loving mother and homemaker who helped and supported her husband on the farm. She loved to crochet and loved to garden.
Norma is survived by her son, Jerry (Ronnie) Jenkins and wife, Joyce of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; daughters, Sandra K. Doyle of Hollister, Missouri and Kathy Gail Thomas and husband, Rickie of Savoy, Texas; grandchildren, Jerry Jenkins, Bryan Jenkins, Kerry Smith and Amie Williams; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Samuel, Tyler, Cody, Jacob, Rebekah, Abigail, Skylar, Kolby, Kennedy, Kearsten, Cody and Chelsea; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Alice Pelt, her husband, Raymond Jenkins, one brother, Gilbert Earl (Sonny) Pelt and one nephew, Randy Earl Pelt.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 with Pastor Clint Bratcher officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
