Funeral Services for Norma Helen Brookins Ruiz, 78 year old Bristol, Texas resident, are scheduled for Saturday November 4, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel at Leonard. Rev. Jim McIntire will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be Friday November 3, 2017 from 7-9 P.M.

Norma was born January 9, 1939 at Randolph, Texas. Her parents were Clifford Burnice and Beulah Lavada Parks Brookins. She was a member of the Blanton Chapel Methodist Church. She worked in the advertising department at Multi-Amp for many years and later worked with her daughter, Becky, at Ruiz Research. She was a great artist, especially in oil paintings and she was a great hostess who loved entertaining at her home, especially her family. Some of her favorite pastimes were fishing with her friend, Otto, dancing and playing bingo with her neighborhood friends. She passed away Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Ennis Regional Medical Center at Ennis, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Rebecca and Michael Marx of Prosper, Deborah and Bryan Mabry of Bristol, and Sherri and Randy Anderson of Plano; her grandchildren: Matthew and Krysten Rowland of Celina and Spencer Rowland and Allysha Koehn of The Colony; her great grandchildren: Isabella Rowland and Emma Rowland, both of Celina and Zander Rowland of The Colony.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Dortha and Porter Reeves, and her good friend, Otto Macalik.
