Nora Godwin, age 91, of Princeton, Texas, passed away August 8, 2009, in Farmersville, Texas. Nora was born January 17, 1918 in Walden, Arkansas to Sylvester and Hettie Jane (Dedman) Thorn. She married James Albert Godwin on March 30, 1946 in Plano, Texas. Nora was a beautician for many years and a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton, Texas where she taught Sunday School. She is survived by her husband, James Godwin of Princeton, Texas; son, Royce Godwin and his wife, Crystal of Princeton, Texas; daughters, Brenda Honea of Coleman, Texas and Myra Pickens of Edgewood, Texas; grandchildren, Madeleine Godwin, Shelley Nunley, Wendy Lackey, Laurie Owens, Bobby Pickens, and Stephen Pickens; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 10, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Princeton, Texas with Rev. Carl Rider officiating. Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
