Nita Daniels Hunter was born January 8, 1941 in McKinney, Texas to Walter “Eak” Daniels and Mary Allen Daniels. She married John Hunter on August 12, 1966 in McKinney, Texas. Nita passed away on September 23, 2019 at home in Cedar Park, Texas at the age of 78 years, surrounded by her family. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and started her passion for teaching at Wallace Elementary in the Richardson Independent School District from 1962 to 1968. She lovingly chose motherhood as her career for the next 20 years, but she continued to tutor, volunteer and remain actively involved in the schools during that time. Nita later went back to work at J.J. Pearce High School as a financial secretary and continued to work in various roles for the Richardson Independent School District until she retired. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Nita is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Hunter of Cedar Park; daughter, Debbie Hunter of McKinney and her family, Marty Albrecht and his two children, Avery and Sophie; son, Michael Hunter of Austin and his wife, Amy and 4 grandchildren, Caden, Luke, Brody and Payton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2019 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
