Neva Wilson Baxter

August 21, 1927 - October 11, 2018

Geneva “Neva” Margaret (Wilson) Baxter of Mesquite, Texas passed away on October 11, 2018 at the age of 91.  She was born on August 21, 1927 to Grover Cleveland and Bertie Lee (Heard) Wilson in McKinney, Texas.  Neva married William Andrew Baxter on June 10, 1944 in McKinney, Texas.  She was a billing clerk for various companies until she retired.  After retirement, Neva was the secretary at Mesquite Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 

Neva is survived by her daughter, Donna Garner and husband, Jim of Mesquite, Texas; son, Dennis Baxter of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren, Paula Roton and husband Royce of Wills Point, Texas, Jerry Roton and wife, Brandy of Quinlan, Texas, Kenneth Baxter and wife, Angie of Glenn Heights, Texas, Regina Zghool and husband, Mohammad of Allen, Texas, Richard Davis of Mesquite, Texas, Jeremy Garner of Mesquite, Texas, Christina Rasor of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Emili Baxter of Rice, Texas; fifteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Baxter; sons, James Baxter and Richard Baxter; grandson, David Baxter; and nine siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.  The family will receive visitors during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Neva was a wonderful person and will be missed. I enjoyed the time I had with her at church and have missed her in recent years. I know she loved to dance and now I know she is enjoying dancing in heaven. She will be missed by friends and family.
