She worked for Haggar Slacks for over eighteen years and then she retired from JCPenney after twenty-three years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Lynn Bell of McKinney; son, Randy Gene Bell and his wife Debbie of Prosper; grandchildren, Kevin Strickland and his wife Andrea of Princeton, Kyle Strickland and his wife Tracy of Prosper and Kim Brackeen and her husband Ryan of Prosper; great-grandchildren, Heath, Brock, Jayeden, Baylee Blu, Taryn and Tate; sister, Joyce Law and her husband Bill of Burleson; sister-in-law, Corene Atkins of Lake Dallas; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Preceding her in death were her husband, Eugene Bell in 1987; and brother, Willie Atkins in 1992. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 21, 2008, at Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney with Rev. Danny Buster, Dr. Bruce Austin and Rev. Ron Liles officiating. Sharon L McCarty, January 23, 2008 Randy and family, I was so sorry to read of your loss in the McKinney Paper. My first memory of your mom was from JC Penney's on the square in McKinney. She had the patience to teach me to gift wrap and take lay-away payments. This was my first job and I am sure I wasn't the best employee! The next time that we crossed paths was through my grandmother, Clara Thompson, being in Neva's Sunday School Class. My grandmother had lost all of her hearing and your Mom was so kind to visit her and write notes to keep her posted on all of the Sunday School Class news. Even after losing my grandmother, Neva made sure that we received the last Church Pictorial that had her picture in it. I know that you will miss her. Please accept my sincere condolensces.
