Nellene Attaway, age 71, of McKinney, Texas, passed away March 2, 2013, in McKinney. Nellene was born February 19, 1942, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Lee H. and Nancy Jane (Castle) Pilkington. She grew up in Sweetwater. Nellene was a care giver for the elderly. She enjoyed singing, loved talking on the telephone, and was very generous. Nellene loved the simple things in life and most importantly, was a good Christian woman.
She is survived by her brother, Major Pilkington of Merkel, Texas; sisters, Belle Frederickson of California, Velva Knapp of Odessa, Texas, Marilyn Gage of Princeton, Texas, and Gracie Vancourt of Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Deanville Pilkington and Arthur Ray Pilkington, and sisters, Nellie Shook, Susie Jane Gillilan, Lily Fay Blair, and Maudie Honea.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
