Neioma Grace Meguire age 90 of Farmersville, TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning August 30th, 2023, in Plano TX.
Services will be held at the Farmersville United Methodist Church, 206 N Main St, Farmersville, TX, 75442 on Saturday September 23rd at 1:00 P.M. CST with lunch served afterword at the O.E. Carlisle Civic Center at 201 Orange Street Farmersville, TX 75442. The service will be officiated by Pastor Brian Dierolf. Remote viewing options will be available and listed below.
Neioma Grace Meguire was born on October 2nd, 1932, to Clyde and Irene Matson in Culbertson NE. She graduated from Trenton high school in 1952, she worked as a nursing assistant for several years at the hospital in McCook, NE, until she married the love of her life Alan Meguire on November 18th, 1959, and they remained happily together for 60 years until Alans passing in 2020. Neioma and Alan moved from Wyoming to Colorado until Finally settling on a small farm in Florence South Dakota in 1964 where they raised their three sons. Neioma focused her energy on her new career of being the best possible mom and wife. As with any young couple Alan worked full time for the power administration which meant it was common to see Neioma hauling hay, milking cows and fixing a fence along with taking care of 3 boys. Neioma was very active in the United Methodist Church, Codington County Extension Club, 4H and she never missed any games or school events.
Neioma and Alan retired in 1987 traveling around the country in their camper visiting friends and family. Neioma loved playing games, especially Pinochle and Bridge and she so enjoyed going to the Texas valley to spend the winter months with their friends. Neioma and Alan eventually landed in Farmersville TX in 2007 and spent the remainder of their years together there blessed to be able to see their grandkids games and spend holidays together with family. Neioma will be best remembered for always being the sweetest person in the room, always looking at the brightest side of a situation and never having a crossword for anyone. She will be so missed but so celebrated in what was a hard-working life but a truly blessed life.
Neioma is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law David and Shawna Meguire, Stephen and Mundy Meguire and Kevin and Patti Meguire, 8 grandkids and 12 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband Alan Meguire, twin sisters Angela Lorrain and Alvira Louise Matson, brother Jake Matson, Grandson Tony Meguire, parents Clyde and Irene Matson, brother in-law Dean Shackleford and nephew Jerry Shackleford, and several aunts and uncles.
