Neal A. Zurbriggen Sr., age 67, of Prosper, Texas, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Neal was born March 20, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Albert W. and Lucille (Smith) Zurbriggen.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Charlotte Zurbriggen; children, Neal Zurbriggen Jr. and wife, Crystal, Sean Zurbriggen, Kristen Kingston and husband, Scott, and Jamie Gustafson and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Mason Zurbriggen, Kaitlyn Gustafson, Noah Kingston, Hudsynn Kingston, Easton Zurbriggen, Berkleigh Zurbriggen, Alex Gustafson, Bryanna Cowell, Leila Zurbriggen, Joaquin Zurbriggen and Chase Zurbriggen; brother, Scott Zurbriggen and wife, Betty Lou; sister, Candace Zurbriggen; and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Neal proudly served in the Navy and was a retired police officer. He had a love for muscle cars, which was shared throughout the family. Neal and his family moved to Texas in 1988. Shortly thereafter, he and his wife started their business, Red Baron Performance, which they operated for the next 11 years. From there, he went on to work as head of security for a local hospital and spent many of his days helping and taking care of others. Neal enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and his pets, and took every opportunity he had to attend car shows and family events. Neal loved his family and will be greatly missed by all of them.
A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Wednesday March 2, 2022, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 8520 Main St., Frisco, Texas.
