IN LOVING MEMORY

Nasri Hannah Fanous

Oct 18 1932 - Feb 20 2021

Nasri Hannah Fanous of Fairview, Texas passed away on February 20, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born October 18, 1932 to Hannah Fanous and Wadiya Bidran in Ramleh, Palestine. With very limited early education, Nasri taught himself English by studying the dictionary. That enabled him to work for the US Embassy in Libya for over 16 years. His ability to persevere through those early challenges led him to become an economic and commercial attaché at the Embassy. His lifelong dream was to bring his family to America, and he was able to so in 1973.  Over the years, he touched so many people with his ability to entertain others - whether by his beautiful singing or by his ability to provide humor spontaneously. Everyone loved Nasri.

Nasri is survived by his wife, Sumaya Fanous of Fairview, Texas; sons, Ramsey Fanous and wife, Rhonda of Fairview, Texas; Ghassan Fanous and wife, Jennie of Odessa, Texas; Ziad Fanous and wife, Karen of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Savannah Fanous; Erika, Luke, Mark, John Paul, Matthew Jude Fanous; Caroline, Catherine, and Andrew Fanous; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers and sisters.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.  Masks are required.

We know that his many friends and family, including the congregation of Saints Constantine & Helen Antiochian Orthodox Church, will want to celebrate his life.  We will have a Memorial Service to honor Nasri this summer, tentatively scheduled for Sunday July 11th.

Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation or Saints Constantine & Helen Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1225 E Rosemeade Parkway, Carrollton, Texas 75007.
