Nancy Lynn Gleeson of Allen, Texas passed away on August 21, 2020 at the age of 74. She was born July 15, 1946 to Robert Forrest Bowers and Virginia Eloise Johnson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nancy attended Midwest City High School where she graduated class of 1964, then attended a private cosmetology school. She married Dennis Carl Gleeson on October 11, 1969 at Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Nancy and her family settled in Allen, Texas in 1977.
Nancy enjoyed oil painting and the beach. She taught oil painting classes, and opened a hand-painted apparel business called Social Suits. For more than twenty-five years, she volunteered with the Allen Eagle Escadrille and continued with the high school drill team as a part-time staff member. Later, Nancy enjoyed working as a substitute teacher for the Allen Elementary School System. Of all the roles Nancy had throughout her life: artist, teacher, volunteer, she cherished most her role as a grandmother. Nancy will be remembered as both mother to her children and to her community.
Nancy is survived by her husband Dennis Carl Gleeson of Allen, Texas; her children Heather Rae Gleeson of Allen, Texas, Jeffrey Robert Gleeson and his children Makayla Rae Gleeson and Vivian Delilah Gleeson, of Pasadena, Maryland; her mother Virginia Eloise Charboneau of Johnson City, Tennessee; her brother Robert Edwin Bowers of Johnson City, Tennessee ; and her sisters Lynette Charboneau Eshbach of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Leslie Anne Williams of Mustang, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Forrest Bowers and her step-father, Theodore John Charboneau.
