Nancy Lou Langford Lowe

Mrs. Nancy Lou Langford Lowe, age 80, of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 8, 2005, in McKinney. She was born October 8, 1924, to Henry Karl and Louvenia (Reib) Langford, in Stamford, Texas. She was married on August 5, 1943, to Jeremiah B. Tainter (deceased 1944) in Hale Center, Texas. On July 11, 1945, she married Johnnie Clark Lowe in Abilene, Texas. Nancy was a teacher specializing in special education, speech therapy, hearing impaired therapy and learning disabled education in Sweetwater, Texas, and San Angelo, Texas. She was also a longtime consultant with the Region XV Education Service Center in San Angelo. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas State Teacher Association, Texas Retired Teacher Association, and Concho Educators Federal Credit Union where she was a board member. She was also a volunteer for the American Heart Association, was a member in numerous leadership positions with Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Lions Club in San Angelo. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in McKinney and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Prime Timers Senior Citizens Group. She is survived by her children, Bobbe Tainter Lowe Thompson and husband, Ralph of Fairview, Texas, Terry Lowe and wife, Judy of Shamrock, Texas, Dana Koch and husband, Ray of Arlington, Virginia, and Karl Lowe of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Jennifer Hanis and husband, Mark, Jason Thompson and his wife, Toni of Little Elm, Texas, and Bob Thompson of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Trey, Sarah, Chase and Shane; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Lou Langford, first husband, Jeremiah B. Tainter, her second husband, Johnnie Clark Lowe, and brother, Dan Langford. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M., Thursday, August 11, 2005, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Gould and Rev. Jayne Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M., at DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
