Nancy Lee Bartlett

Nancy Lee (Marsden) Bartlett, passed away at the age of 83, September 4, 2021, in Frisco, Texas where she had been living for the past year and a half. 

Nancy was born on June 14, 1938, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Gerard Pendlebury and Ethel Elizabeth (Byington) Marsden. 

Nancy married Larry Wayne Bartlett in Battle Creek, Michigan on June 28, 1958. She graduated from Western Michigan University and majored in Home Economics and History. After graduation, she worked as an elementary school teacher until her oldest child was born. Then she switched gears, for 23 years, becoming a Calhoun County 4H leader for all of her daughters.  When her daughters were grown, she began working as the Director of Day Care at Battle Creek Christian Schools. 

Nancy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek and enjoyed volunteering, attending bible studies, and church circles. She was also a member of the Marshall Lions Club and held the positions of Secretary and Treasurer. Fundraising and volunteering at the pancake breakfast every year were a few of the activities she enjoyed.  

Nancy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Even though they were located all over the United States, she rarely missed their important events.  Nancy was always baking, canning, coloring, reading, knitting, or sewing. Her Halloween costumes, Christmas stockings, draperies, wedding, and bridesmaid dresses were amazing. She loved traveling and took multiple cruises with her husband and family. Nancy had travelled to 48 of the 50 states and their capitals. She also enjoyed golfing with her husband, boasting 4 hole-in-one's! 

Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Phillips of Houston, TX, Connie and Jeff Tramel of The Colony, TX, Melanie and Jeff Ingalls of Dayton, OH; her eight grandchildren, Shelby and John Phillips of Bentonville, AR, Jackson Phillips of Houston, TX, Dylan Tramel of Frisco, TX, Hailey Tramel of Dallas, TX, Reagan, Lincoln, Sherman and Patton Ingalls all of Dayton, OH. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Ann Garnett of Holt, MI; 5 nephews and 2 niece's.  

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry of 62 years; her parents, Gerard and Ethel Marsden; her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Gail Saylor of Marshall, MI and Norman Garnett of Holt, MI.  

A Memorial Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, on Sunday, October 3, 2021, beginning at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211, held on Monday, October, 4, 2021, beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek, MI or The Lions Club of Marshall, MI.
