Nancy Elizabeth Williams, age 79, peacefully passed away on October 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished resident of McKinney, Texas. Nancy was born on September 12, 1944, in Sheffield, Alabama, to her parents, Sydney and Thelma (Sanders) Hewson.

Growing up in the heart of Alabama, Nancy completed her high school education, laying the foundation for a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication. On October 20, 1963, she entered into a lifelong commitment when she married Jerry Lester Williams in Sheffield, Alabama. Their love story spanned nearly six decades, until Jerry's passing on November 3, 2022, leaving behind beautiful memories and a legacy of enduring love.

In 1978, Nancy and Jerry made the bold decision to move their family to Texas, where they embraced new adventures and created lasting friendships. Nancy devoted herself to the role of homemaker, tirelessly caring for her family and creating a warm and inviting home for all who entered.  She was very involved in both of her children’s schools volunteering in all capacities.

Nancy was a member of the Junior League of Plano, where she contributed her time and effort to numerous charitable endeavors, making a positive impact on her community. Her passion for Mahjong brought joy to her life, and she often enjoyed friendly games with dear friends.  She also enjoyed Canasta and played with her friends frequently.

Nancy was a faithful member of the McDermott Road Church of Christ, where her spirituality provided her with strength and a sense of belonging. She found solace and support in her church family throughout her life.

Nancy Williams is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Williams of Plano, Texas; son, Michael Williams, and his wife, Ashlee, of Celina, Texas. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Faith Williams, Maverick Williams, and Revere Williams, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind a sister, Sandra Townsley and husband, Jim; numerous other loving family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Thelma Hewson; as well as her beloved husband, Jerry Lester Williams.

Nancy's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched the hearts of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her enduring love and gentle spirit. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
