Nancy Brooks

April 5, 1940 - September 10, 2017

Nancy Elizabeth (Wright) Brooks of McKinney, Texas passed away on September 10, 2017 at the age of 77.  She was born on April 5, 1940 to Wallace Edwin and Opal Odessa (Duff) Wright in Amarillo, Texas.  Nancy was a homemaker.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney.

Nancy is survived by her sons, David Brooks and wife, Carolyn, Dan Brooks and wife, Karen all of McKinney, Texas, Duane Brooks and wife, Melanie, Darin Brooks and wife, Frances all of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Brooks and Reece Brooks both of McKinney, Texas, Amanda Ritchie and husband, Ted of Abilene, Texas, Travis Brooks and wife, Cassie also of McKinney, Texas, Mason Brooks and wife, Carolyn of Austin, Texas, Graham Brooks and wife, Abigail of Houston, Texas, Chase Brooks of Little Rock, Arkansas, Casey Brooks, Andrew Brooks, John Brooks and Samuel Brooks all of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kate Brooks, Ellie Brooks and Millie Ritchie; sister, Alice Hauck of Park City, Illinois; brother, Lloyd Wright and wife, Carol of Tucson, Arizona; and numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Wallace; and sister, Joy.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1615 W. Louisiana St., McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.

I am so saddened by finding this news of Nancy's death on the internet. We were great friends from our time at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana and then on we all went to Whiteman Air Force Base, in Knob Noster, Missouri. Nancy and I had such good times together crafting, shopping and just spending time together. I miss you, my dear friend.
