IN LOVING MEMORY

Nan Riederer

Nov 29 1932 - Feb 19 2025

Nan Riederer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on November 29, 1932 to Earl Clifton Carrol and Nora Aline (Nicholson) Carrol in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Nan was united in marriage to her late husband, Donald “Don Max” Riederer. Together, they shared many years of love and cherished moments until his passing in 2022.

A longtime resident of McKinney, Texas, Nan had a long and successful career as a realtor with Ebby Halliday where she was a trailblazer for women in the industry. Nan took selling and buying homes for others beyond work- it was her ministry. She was known for her dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit, which left a lasting impact on both her colleagues and clients. Nan also had a passion for angels and had a desire to share her love with others. She opened a one-of-a-kind boutique on McKinney’s square called Angels Unlimited where all were welcome to shop or stop in for friendly conversation with Nan about her unique store.

Nan was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in McKinney, where she was an active participant in the church community. Her commitment to both her family and her church was a testament to the love she had for others. Nan was cherished by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nan is survived by her daughter, Judy Kontaratos of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Kali Copeland of Plano, Texas; grandson, Chase Copeland and wife, Kate of Frisco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Rand Copeland and Rothwell Copeland; grandson, Sean Arey of St. Louis Missouri; great grandchildren, Caroline Arey, Clementine Arey, and Adeline Arey; niece, Ramona Caldwell of Whitesboro, Texas; great-niece, J.J. Caldwell-Tyson of Greenbrier, Arkansas; and great-grandniece, Cate Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Riederer; son, Brock David Arey; and parents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 400 North College Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.
