Mya Sa’Mone Lewis was born on May 20, 2009 to Dr. Montelle Da’Mone Lewis and Melinda Pettiford Lewis in Plano, Texas and has a younger sister Mylan Jaymes Lewis. Mya attended the Allen ISD school district and was a proud Olson Otter in elementary school, a Cougar at Curtis Middle School, and was a current Allen Eagle in ninth grade at Allen High School. Mya, 14, gained her angel wings suddenly on April 11, 2024.
In her fourteen-year presence, Mya had shown strength beyond the definition and an unconditional will, and as a result her life brought joy and happiness to those she surrounded. Mya touched so many through her bright eyes, fashionable wardrobe, and soft touch. She highlighted the room with her presence, one of a kind facial expressions, and tones as she engaged in the conversation of the room. Mya enjoyed shopping, watching TV, her IPad, visiting her grandparents, and riding around. She was a master at ignoring her Dynavox and playing possum in certain subjects in school. She stayed up all night every night communicating best in the wee hours of the night. Mya was the number one fan of her mom and sister’s basketball team the Ballerette’s and enjoyed watching her sister play for Curtis.
Mya’s resilience and inner strengthens illuminated, impacted, and educated the lives of her family and friends. Her will power to overcome odds and continue to live with purpose while being the best daughter, sister, grandchild, niece, cousin and friend.
