Muoi Van Nguyen passed away on December 16, 2021 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 84. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Muoi managed his health with strength, courage, and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final week, he was surrounded by his wife, children, nephew, and grandchildren, whom he adored more than anything else in the world.
He was born on May 3, 1937 to Kiem and Thiet Nguyen in Saigon, Vietnam. He grew up with ten siblings and later in life with “man’s best friend,” Keiko. As a teen, he loved spending his time with friends and classmates, teaching and learning from each other. He attended foreign school, graduated and taught math, science and foreign language. He was drafted to join the military as an officer and traveled abroad to exchange military leadership, knowledge and strategies. This sparked his passion for building leadership and solidarity filled with pride, courage and respect.
In his 20s, he met Tuyet Vo. They fell in love in Saigon and married in 1960. They started a family complete with four sons. As a family, they loved various cuisines, travels, debates, and spending times with extended family members. Being a kind and dependable husband and father was of the utmost importance to Muoi and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
Muoi is survived by his wife, Tuyet Vo of McKinney, Texas and sons, Khoa, Phuong, Bang, and Linh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kiem and Thiet, by his sisters, Nghi and Hoa, and by his brothers, Sau and Muoi.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, December 24, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. His family will be present to welcome loved ones for a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
