IN LOVING MEMORY

Mrs. Yuan Qujian

Nov 22 1939 - Mar 28 2025

Mrs. Yuan Qujian was born on January 1, 1940 (Lunar Calendar: November 22, 1939) in Sijun Village, Shijie Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China. She was the second child in her family and grew up in a modest household. In 1960, she married Mr. Xie Haosong from Nanshe Village, Chashan Town, Dongguan City. Life after marriage was difficult, and together, they raised two sons and four daughters. To help support the family, Mrs. Yuan worked for many years in a production team, raising pigs.

By 1980, following China’s economic reform, she was able to leave her rural labor behind and enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle as her children grew up and started their own families. In her free time, Mrs. Yuan enjoyed watching television, especially TVB dramas, and loved playing mahjong with family and friends.

In 1992, she had the opportunity to move to the United States, but after six months, she decided to return to China as she found it difficult to adapt to life abroad. It was not until 2005, after the passing of her husband, that she returned to the U.S. to reunite with her children, who had mostly settled in Texas, and enjoyed the happiness of being with her family.

In her later years, she suffered a fall that led to mobility issues and a gradual loss of independence. Since her family members had work and school obligations during the day, she spent some time living with a married couple who could provide care. Eventually, she moved into a nursing home. On the morning of March 28, 2025, after being attended to by caregivers, she passed away peacefully in her bed at the age of 89.

Mrs. Yuan was a hardworking and devoted mother who dedicated her life to raising her children and managing her household. She was deeply loved and respected by her family. Her life was filled with love and selflessness, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
