IN LOVING MEMORY

Miriam Castillo Vargas

Dec 17 1946 - Dec 08 2022

Miriam Castillo Vargas, age 75, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on December 8, 2022 in McKinney. She was born on December 17, 1946, in Quintana Roo, Mexico to the late Vicente Castillo and Marta Paz.

Miriam is survived by her son, Edward Peraza of Allen, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Victor M. Flores, Jr. of McKinney, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Hector Vargas and Sandra Baptista of Dallas, Texas; daughter Viviam V. Vargas of Cedar Hill, Texas; grandchildren Sebastian, Crystal, Brianna, Gabriel; and former daughter-in-law Luz Marina Cobo.  Miriam was a strong, courageous, and spirited woman who forged a better life for herself and her children. She overcame adversities and worked tirelessly to make sure her children had the right foundation for a successful life. Miriam adored her grandchildren and loved making them special craft gifts, participating in their school activities, and listening to their dreams, thoughts, and ideas. She was an unwavering cheerleader to her beloved family.

One of Miriam’s favorite past times was gardening. She had a “green thumb” and took great pleasure in tending to her garden, talking to her flowers, plants, and trees. She always had the most beautiful garden with gnomes of all shapes and sizes that she meticulously re-painted to keep them “alive”.  Miriam was also a mystical creature who was sought out by many for her counsel and spiritual guidance. She knew just what to say to encourage and motivate others in their times of need. She positively touched many lives, who will carry her in their hearts forever.

A private family only graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Ridgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening, December 14, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
