Mimi Theresa Lwin Calvert, 55, of Lucas, Texas, passed away on November 17, 2024, after a short brave battle with cancer. Mimi was born on July 17, 1969, in Burma to Tint Lwin and the late Khin Su Lwin. Mimi graduated from Watertown, New York high school and the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, she married Vince Matacale and they moved to the Dallas, Texas area where their children were raised. Mimi later received her certification to be a senior auditor for Texas Oncology. Mimi was extremely talented and enjoyed sewing, painting, and cooking fine recipes from her heritage.
Mimi is survived by her husband, Tim Calvert, of Lucas, Texas; five children: Garrett Matacale, Jacob Matacale, Reagan Matacale, Adam Matacale, and Landon Matacale, all of Lucas, Texas; ex-husband Vince (Jeanie), of Plano, Texas; brother Doug Lwin (Renate Mesmer) of Denver, Colorado; nephew Andrew Lwin, of Denver, Colorado; niece, Cara Lwin, of Nashville, Tennessee; father and mother-in-law, David and Jeanie Calvert, of Kingwood, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Tamara Detrick (Brian), of Kingwood, West Virginia; and lots of extended family. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Allen, Texas, with Dr. Brian Detrick officiating. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the funeral home.
