A Graveside Service for Mr. Milton Ray Glasscock, 73 year old Trenton resident, is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday May 11, 2018 at the Burns Cemetery at Trenton. Charles Wrenn will officiate. There will be no formal visitation but anyone is welcome to come by the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at Leonard to view and/or sign the register book anytime during regular office hours.
Milton was born December 18, 1944. His parents were Curtis Ray and Elfa Fay Norman Glasscock. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1962, was a member of the Baptist Church and served his country as a member of the United States Army. He married Martha Gayle Key Glasscock October 23, 1964 at Trenton and they made their home in Garland for a number of years. He worked until his retirement for Yellow Freight Lines of Garland and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 745. During his retirement years, he worked with his brother at Jack’s Wholesale Meats in Trenton. He was a quiet person who enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with his family, watching old movies and all kinds of sports. He was a very giving and caring person who always wanted to help others. He also loved animals and supported the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). He passed away at his son’s home in McKinney Sunday May 6, 2018.
Milton is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Richard Ray and Cynthia Glasscock of McKinney; his sister: Rose Lawrence of Leonard; his brother and sister-in-law: Ricky and Donna Glasscock of Trenton and two nieces and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Martha Gayle Key Glasscock, and by an infant brother, Phillip Clay Glasscock.
