Milton Lewis Jr., 67, passed away on May 23, 2025, in McKinney, Texas. He was born on April 4, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Milton lived a life marked by dedication, service, and deep love for his family. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Milton served his country with honor and distinction for 20 years. Rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class, he was an infantryman whose commitment and leadership earned him numerous accolades. Among his many achievements were earning the prestigious titles of U.S. Army Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, and Drill Sergeant. His military decorations included the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, four Army Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. His career reflected not only his courage but also his unwavering discipline and sense of duty. Beyond his military accomplishments, Milton was known for being a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Iris R. Howard; their children, Jennifer Howard, Milton Howard, Latisha Stevens, Marcell Howard, Sarah Howard, and Michael Howard; grandchildren, Ken’Dre Howard, KeVon Hill, Kenyura Hill, Nadija Hill, KeShon Hill, Kendrick Hill, Micah Hill, Marcus Holmes, Milton Holmes, Kaleb Hill, Jenaveace Sterling, Alex Fairley, Alanna Fairley, Axel Fairley, Adrian Jackson Jr., Tyrell Howard, Sariyah Harris, De’Zaria Harris, Hezekiah Howard, Mekhi Howard and Kai’lani Howard; great grandchildren, Ava Hill, KeVon Hill Jr., Malaya Hill, Kenyura Hill Jr., Kaleigh Hill, Kazion Hill, Khalil Howard, Kyrin Hill, Oakland Hill and Neyloni Jackson; and his mother, Azan P. Kamal. His legacy continues through each of them. Milton also leaves behind a large and close-knit family of siblings: Herschel Lewis Sr., Debra Sloan, Sharon Bell, Margeret Lewis, Asya Kamal Love, Abdullah Kamal, and Basheir Kamal.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lewis. Those who knew Milton remember him as a kind-hearted man who gave generously of himself to others. His warmth and compassion touched many lives—whether through his steadfast presence at home or his mentorship during military service.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well-lived in service to others.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive guests during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
