Cindy Allen Dowell, November 1, 2018 Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. May God bless and comfort you all during this difficult time. Sincerely, The Eldridge and Sullivan Family Jill Sullivan, October 30, 2018 I first met Mike and his parents in the 7th grade, they became my second family, especially when I was living in McKinney on my own while attending North Texas State. I took typing from Mrs Bennett in high school and she always said she would move me to the back of the class to stop me from talking! They were such a stabilizing factor in my life. When Marcia Merriman and I were getting married, she helped my Mother with arranging the rehearsal dinner. They both came to my graduation from U.S. Air Force pilot training in 1968. They were much loved and will be remembered until I too am called home.
Bob Matzinger, October 30, 2018 Mildred was such a lovely lady in many ways. She and Dean affected many lives in our community with their long years in education. How great to live to 103 in such a graceful way. Blessings to all your family. Sandra Shelton, October 30, 2018 I had the pleasure of meeting both Mildred and Dean Bennett at the dedication ceremony of Bennett Elementary. Over the years Mildred was a frequent presence at other district ceremonies honoring namesakes. As a MISD educator, what a legacy and inspiration Mildred was to everyone. She and Dean have earned a place of honor in the hearts of McKinney. My condolences to the family. Juli Ferraro, October 29, 2018 My heart goes out to Mrs. Bennett's family, Mike, David, Cathy, and all the others. She was an exceptional lady and teacher. I had her for typing and secretarial training in MHS, she taught us well on how and what to do entering the work force. So many times I had mentally thanked Mrs. Bennett for her explanations, teaching on the proper ways to apply oneself for a job. She was a super good lady, teacher who cared about her students. How she ever put up with all of us amazes me, even to this day. My prayers go out to her family, she was special. Faye Lindley Terry, October 29, 2018 Mrs. Bennett was a wonderful teacher. I so enjoyed her class in Secretarial Training. And she was a fine lady as well as a great role model to all of us who knew her. She indeed left a lasting legacy and had a tremendous impact on people whose lives she touched along the way. I'm so sorry that I will be unable to attend the visitation and the memorial service. However, I will be praying for the family as you honor her life and remember all the good times. Carolyn Pitts Corbin, October 29, 2018 What sweet, patient and forbearing neighbors Mr and Mrs. Bennet were to the Bergman children and dogs. Our condolences. Barbara Bergman Robertson, October 29, 2018 She was such a light in our lives! She was one of a kind. The boys and I will miss our visits with her. Beth Lowry, October 29, 2018
