Mildred Maxine Hall Belew, age 91, of McKinney, Texas, passed from this life on December 5, 2007 in McKinney, Texas, into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born February 15, 1916, in Copeville, Texas, to Herb J. and Mary Elizabeth (Jones) Hall. On December 4, 1942, she married Russell L. Belew in McKinney. He preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Belew retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after almost 30 years of service and then worked many years as PBX operator at Collin Memorial Hospital. She was a member of The Oaks Baptist Church in McKinney . Mildred loved to quilt and made several quilts for family and friends during her lifetime. She is survived by nieces: Joy Bass of Denison, Judy Hargett of McKinney, Marie Russell, of Greenville, Jessie Lou Mitchell of Kansas, and Loretta Kiper of Florida, nephews: C.B. Edwards, Jr. of Princeton, and H.F. Litchfield of California; brother-in-law, Ralph Mason of McKinney; great-niece, Julie Smith, of Anna, great nephews, Rodney Bass of Paris, John Hargett II of Denton, and several of her husbands nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Russell L. Belew; parents, Herb & Mary Elizabeth Hall; sisters, Mary Lou Litchfield, Winnie Edwards, and Imogene Mason. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 7, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Pallbearers for the serivce will be Rodney Bass, Nan Bass, Scott Smith, Julie Smith, John Hargett II, and C.B. Edwards, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to The Oaks Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2253, McKinney, TX 75070.
