Mildred Ann Kalmbach passed away September 4, 2022 in Huntsville, Texas at the age of 90. She was born on January 15, 1932 to Jesse Roy and Cecil Vernice (Herron) Mayes.
Mildred graduated high school from Celina, Texas. She worked in insurance and then at her husband's pharmacy until his death in 1975. Mildred ran her own gift and flower shop before working in a local bank in Van Alstyne. Her favorite hobby was competition ballroom dancing. She also enjoyed sewing and embroidery. Mildred had several pets over the years and especially loved her many cats.
In 2005 she moved to Huntsville (Lake Livingston) to be near her daughter, Andrea Barrett. Mildred is also survived by her stepdaughter Shelley Stall and granddaughters, Brittney and Karty. She had many friends and relatives in the McKinney, Van Alstyne, and Celina area, as well as many new friends in Huntsville. Mildred had moved her church membership to The First United Methodist Church of Riverside.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Kalmbach.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas.
