IN LOVING MEMORY

Mickey Carter

Sep 07 1951 - Feb 12 2023

Mitchell "Mickey" Weldon Carter of Celina Texas passed peacefully in his home on February 12, 2023. Mickey was born September 7, 1951, in McKinney Texas. Mickey was a dedicated Christian and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Celina Texas.  Mickey spent his entire life in Celina Texas and worked for the BNSF Railroad for over 40 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mickey never met a stranger. Most would describe him as ornery, kind, and hilarious. If Mickey liked you, he'd "razz ya." Mickey was always making his family laugh. He may have been stubborn, but he would give you the shirt off his back. He was down to earth and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved riding his Harleys and researching all he could find about things that interested him. He loved talking about the things he had read. Mickey loved family and animals and treated his pets as his children. They were all spoiled rotten and brought him so much joy. He would even give them a seat at the table. He had recently added a German Shephard puppy named Sugar to his family.

Mickey is preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Margaret Carter, and brother Michael Carter. He is also preceded in death by his beloved dogs, Blackie and Gator.

He is survived by his three children, Shelli Carter of Moore, Oklahoma, Stephan "Butch" Carter (and wife April) of Rowlett, Texas, and Robyn Fox (and husband Robert) of Palm Harbor Florida. He was the proud Boompa of his 6 grandkids, Ashley Baxley, Rachel Fox, Madi Fox, Chloe Carter, Trevor Carter, and Cora Carter. As well as his 2 great-grandchildren Liam Baxley and Harper Baxley. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Farquhar. He will be dearly missed by his family, but his love and laughter will live on through our precious memories of him.

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Belew Cemetery, 9500 Belew Rd., Pilot Point Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the German Shepherd Rescue of Texas at www.gsrtx.org/donate.
