IN LOVING MEMORY

Michelle Betts

Apr 18 1966 - Mar 17 2024

Michelle Betts, a beloved mother, daughter, niece, cousin, and friend to many, passed away in Fort Collins, Colorado, on March 17, 2024. She was born April 18, 1966, in Dallas, Texas.

Michelle loved everyone she knew with all her heart. She had a natural ability to touch the lives of everyone around her, and she never met a stranger. Michelle had a passion for all animals and enjoyed adventures in nature and outdoor activities, particularly those that took her to the mountains or the beach for hiking, bicycling, and skiing. She was a beautiful free spirit, full of life, and wit, incredibly creative, and a huge fan of live music and rock bands like the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.

Following graduation from Richardson High School in 1984, Michelle attended Texas Tech University and San Jacinto College in California to further her education. Her creativity found expression in various professional endeavors, including being house manager for the late NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle and within the Walt Disney Company's art department, as well as in pursuing personal painting and photography projects.

Michelle was devoted to her family and was especially proud of her daughter Sophia. She is survived by her daughter, Sophia Betts of McKinney, Texas; mother, Marie Betts of McKinney, Texas; father, Dana Betts and wife Diana of Boerne, Texas; aunt and uncle, Sue and John Bond of Plano, Texas; cousins, Rebecca Clack and husband Jon of Houston, Texas; Mary Morel and Kathy Morel of Seattle, Washington; and Michelle’s grand dogs, Princess and Jasper, who knew her as "Mimi”.

While the hole in our hearts can never be filled, Michelle’s legacy lives on in our cherished memories. Please honor Michelle's enduring spirit by embracing your own adventures, creativity, and the joys of companionship.

A celebration of Michelle’s life will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Cottonwood Creek Church, 1015 Sam Rayburn Tollway, Allen, Texas, with a reception following in the Cottonwood Creek Church Atrium.
