Michael Gordon Heidenreich

Michael Gordon Heidenreich of Wylie, Texas passed away May 18, 2022 at the age of 68.  He was born February 18, 1954 to Gordon and Donna (Duffy) Heidenreich in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Mike graduated from Macomb High with the class of 1972. Then, enjoyed a long successful career as a telecom engineer. He loved his Harley and drove it to all the lower 48 states, as well as Alaska, and rented one in Hawaii. Mike had a passion for collecting guns for hunting and target practice. He also was an avid reader, devouring books as fast as he could acquire them. He was a devoted sports enthusiast, and a life-long Cub fan. His greatest joy ever was “the farm”, their property in East Texas. He loved the outdoors, solitude, and spending time there with family. Mike’s family was his everything.

Mike was a long-time active member of the Plano Masonic Lodge, as well as East Fork Lodge in Wylie. He also attended New Hope Church in Wylie.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Jo of Wylie, Texas; sons, Chris Heidenreich and wife, Casey of Wylie, Texas and Adam Heidenreich and wife, Erin of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler, Sophia, Hannah and Wyatt; dad, Gordon Heidenreich of Jerseyville, Illinois; sister, Susie Evans and husband, Dave of Jerseyville, Illinois; and numerous other family members and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Heidenreich.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at New Hope Church, 1100 W. Brown Street, Wylie, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The American Cancer Society. https://donate3.cancer.org
