Michael William Geary of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 25, 2020 at the age of 53. He was born on April 4, 1967 to William Robert Geary and Nancy Ann (Browning) Geary in Buffalo, New York.
Mike’s father Bill was an IBM Exec and enjoyed a rewarding career traveling the U.S. As a child, Mike lived in several cities across the mid-west and even lived in Alaska during his middle school years. Mike graduated high school in East Troy, Wisconsin, attended college, and began his own business with his brother Tim repairing electronic office equipment. After building and divesting the business, Mike moved to Chicago, Illinois where he began his career with Minolta Business Systems, later named Konica-Minolta Business Solutions. He progressed in his career advancement with KMBS transferring to Dallas, Texas. From there he was promoted to Branch General Manager in Houston, Texas and eventually promoted to Marketplace Vice President of the South Texas Region. Mike was a Diamond Circle Club Member in the prestigious KMBS President’s Club, achieving a total of 19 trips and earning the Gauntlet Award for leading the #1 Branch in the company. He received that award on a trip to Dublin, Ireland which made it even more special to him. Post Konica-Minolta, he continued to hold Sales and Executive positions, the most recent of which was President of Hilliard Office Solutions. While based in Houston, he also met and married his beautiful wife, Christy. They were blessed with an amazing family who currently reside in McKinney, Texas.
Mike was very proud of his Irish Catholic heritage and honored it by serving as President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Catholic Fraternity during his time living in Greenville, North Carolina. Mike also greatly enjoyed listening to music and playing multiple instruments, a gift and passion that he passed on to his family. He was an incredible husband and father and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife, Christy Geary, daughters Casey Geary and Carly Geary, and son, Liam Geary of McKinney, Texas. He is also survived by his father, Bill (Sandy) Geary of Buffalo, New York; sisters, Kathy (Rob) Nelson of Darien, Illinois, Sheila (Darren) Knapp of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois, and Maureen (Jerry) Hauerwas of Clintonville, Wisconsin; brothers, Jim (Chris) Geary of Colleyville, Texas, Shawn (Debby) Geary of Muskego, Wisconsin, Danny (Lori) Geary of Colleyville, Texas and Ben Geary of Burleson, Texas, and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Geary and his brother, Tim Geary.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at St Gabriel the Archangel Church, 110 St Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071 and the church will be live streaming the service at the following link:
