Michael Leon Cox

September 26, 1948 - January 10, 2019

Michael Cox of McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2019, at the age of 70.  He was born on September 26, 1948 to Melvin and Patsy (Hill) Cox in Phoenix, Arizona.  Michael married Debra Larimer on December 28, 1968 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Debra Cox of McKinney, Texas; children, Matthew Cox and wife, Christie of Alaska and Lori Crysler and husband, Daniel of Allen, Texas; brothers, Steve Cox and wife, Gayle of Edmond, Oklahoma, David Cox and wife, Susan of Houston, Texas, and Terry Cox and wife, Patty of Wichita, Kansas; loving grandchildren; and many more close family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Allen Heights Baptist Church, 1309 East Main Street, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow on Thursday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, with full military honors, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.  The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.

Debbie and Lori, we are thinking of you during this sad time. Hold firmly to God’s promises as we will see Mike again. He was a wonderful person.
