IN LOVING MEMORY

Michael Wayne McGill

Jan 21 1965 - Sep 02 2019

Michael Wayne McGill of Princeton, Texas passed away on September 2, 2019 at the age of 54.  He was born on January 21, 1965 to Roy Lee and Nina Ruth (Byrum) McGill in McKinney, Texas.  Michael graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1983.  He continued his education at TSTI Technical School in Waco, Texas.  Michael was employed by John Deere (AgPower/United AG and Turf) for 35 years. He served on the Blue Ridge School Board for 9 years. Michael was a judge for many years at the Fort Worth and Houston Livestock shows in the Ag Projects division. He recently became a member of the Lone Star Garden Tractor Association. Michael shared his love of working on these pulling tractors with his brother, Neal, nephews and great-nephew who carry his namesake of Wayne. He took the time to participate in these pulls as a competitor having the time of this life exclaiming to all of us "Man what a rush that was!" Michael touched countless people’s lives in Collin County through the agricultural field. He became a friend to anyone he met. Michael was our ray of sunshine on a dark day; he was the one who checked on family just to see how things were going. Michael’s laugh was infectious and his hugs were comforting. Our lives will be forever changed without him.   Michael was a board member of the Soil Conservation FSA.  He was a member of Collin County Cowboy Church and active with Targets for Christ.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Charley Ann McGill of Dallas, Texas; mother, Nina Ruth McGill of McKinney, Texas; brothers, Roy Edward McGill and wife, Emma of Celina, Texas, Howard Neal McGill and wife, Jan of Princeton, Texas and Thomas Elmer McGill and wife, Cindy of Celeste, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee McGill.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
