IN LOVING MEMORY

Michael Robert Lonergan

Aug 12 1952 - Nov 26 2025

On Wednesday, November 26th, Mike Lonergan passed away peacefully in his sleep, early in the morning. He leaves behind the love of his life, Linda; five pretty great kids; eleven awesome grandkids; nine wonderful great-grandkids; and two beloved fur babies. He was welcomed into heaven with open arms by his parents, brother, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law and his son-in-law.

If you knew Mike, you knew his great loves: his wife, astronomy, the Chicago Cubs, cruising, and his family and friends. Though the last four months were a tremendous fight, his life was filled with love, joy, laughter, and plenty of corny jokes. He cherished traveling, cruising, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and sitting on the back patio with Linda, listening to jazz music and enjoying the simple beauty of being together.

Throughout his 73 years, Mike touched countless lives. He brought out every emotion—from laughter to tears—but above all, he loved deeply and freely. He left this world reminding his wife how much he loved her, and he would want everyone who loved him to continue showing that same love to Linda.

As he wished, Mike’s ashes will be spread in Chicago at Wrigley Field. Any donations received will go toward his cremation costs and the travel needed to honor his final request.
