Surrounded by family and friends, God called his servant Michael (Mike) Patrick Sullivan, home on Nov. 10, 2024.
Born on May 4, 1963, from an early age Mike knew his heart was meant for law enforcement, serving the communities he loved. For 38 years, he did just that, making a lasting difference through steadfast leadership, unwavering compassion, and a belief that everyone could always do better and be better.
Mike began his career as a Police Offer in Heath, later becoming a Deputy Constable in Dallas County, a Lieutenant for the Desoto Police Department and Chief of Police for the City of Farmersville. He took a brief retirement serving as the Assistant City Manager of Farmersville but returned to his true calling and spent his final days as Assistant Police Chief for the Town of Fairview.
Beyond his dedication to his community, there was no greater honor for Mike than being a husband of 36 years to his wife, Tammie; father to his son, Michael, and friend to all he met. His stories and humor made him the life of every party and his genuineness was evident in every interaction.
Mike is proceeded in death by his grandfather, Robert Holman Miller; grandmother, Jettie Miller; mother, Mary Delores Moore; and aunt, Joan White. He is survived by his wife, Tammie, son Michael, extended family and a legacy of service that will live far into the future.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Tuesday, November 19 at 10 AM at LakePointe Church in Rockwall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Mike’s honor to Friends of Fairview, the Farmersville Police Association, and the Farmersville Volunteer Fire Department.
