Michael J. (Mike) Hays of Frisco, Texas, graduated to heaven on January 29, 2025, after nearly a year-long battle with cancer. He was 72 years old.
He was born to Lester Jerry and Vella Ann (Cox) Hays on January 20, 1953, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. His father was in the US Air Force, and six months later they were transferred to the United States.
Mike married Marian Berg on July 1, 1979, and celebrated 45 years together. He was devoted to his family and church. He and Marian thoroughly enjoyed their many cruises and beach vacations.
He owned an insurance brokerage for several years before becoming interested in the Internet in 1994. He worked with several companies, including American Airlines and Sabre Travel. For the past 13 years, he has worked with AT&T in Cybersecurity. He was also active in IT and AV through his church, winning awards for his forward thinking and web work. He also programmed and maintained an autoresponder system that ran for 20 years.
Mike is survived by his wife, Marian; son, Brian Hays and his wife Beverly, and grandchildren, Abigail and Jeremy, of Anna, Texas; sisters, Sherry Blais (Bob) and Jeri Schneider (Ron); brother, David Grass; and sister-in-law, Marggie Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
